The author examines the problem of the modern family from the point of view of sociocultural knowledge. In the conditions of the modern rapid rhythm of life, family values undergo difficulties and changes, new problems appear, solutions to which can be found in the sphere of culture. The paper cites the data from published studies that draw attention to the problems of lack of family communication in Russia, consistently indicating the seriousness of the influence of culture and leisure on the formation of a personality, and, consequently, on the evolution of society. Modern theaters, museums, leisure spaces offer many options for joint leisure, available to different categories of the population. The museum, as a cultural institution, is an integral part of the life of society, that not only preserves the relics of the past, but also actively creates the present, preparing various programs and providing leisure for various categories of visitors. The modern problem of the lack of communication in the family is one of the complex psychological difficulties, largely due to the existing rhythm of life, insufficient information about the problem or a frivolous attitude towards it. The solution to this problem may lie in joint leisure, family consolidation on the basis of common cultural interests, the satisfaction of which can be obtained in the museum.
