Open-air museum as a factor in forming cultural identity (on the example of the museum-reserve "Tomskaya pisanitsa")

The state autonomous cultural institution of Kuzbass Museum-Reserve «Tomskaya Pisanitsa» performs an important function in constructing and transmitting the regional cultural identity of Siberia. The study based on the analysis of the museum practices and interaction with the local community testifies that the museum acts as a key agent of socialization, contributing to the formation of a sense of belonging to their cultural community among the population. Through the mechanisms of museumification and cultural animation the museum preserves and popularizes the historical and cultural heritage of the region, strengthening interethnic ties and promoting the development of cultural tourism.
