The article deals with the analysis of the structural and semantic peculiarities of the masculine names with the meaning “greatness” in the English onomastic world picture. There are specified the definitions of the basic terms of the study “language world picture”, “onomastic world picture”, “anthroponym” and “gender”. There are stated the semantic volume of the concept ‘greatness’ and its nuclear conceptual and peripheral features. The additional semantic traits are fixed in the names’ semantics.
