Music computer technologies and a new concept of sound space (on the problem of synesthesia of the arts)

The development of music computer and multimedia technologies in the second half of the 20th -early 21st centuries has a profound impact on the transformation of genres in contemporary art practice, giving rise to new forms that are part of the synthetic space of audiovisual art forms. The paper deals with the aspect of integrating computer capabilities in the synesthesia of the arts, the formation of sound and audiovisual space. The authors highlight the contemporary concepts and techniques of musical composition related to musical and computer technologies in synthesis with other types of arts. The transformation of the concepts of “sound” and “image”, based on the idea of sound as an artistic phenomenon, is characterized. The compatibility of electronic music with traditional musical technologies is emphasized as a condition for the continuity of musical eras and styles, their interpenetration and synthesis.
