This article examines one of the real-life examples of intercultural interaction between the Western and Eastern worlds through the biblical concept. Applying the linguistic and cultural studies approach, the author provides a conceptual analysis of the popular South Korean hymn «나의 힘 이/ 되신 여호와 여» («O Lord, my strength») by the Korean composer Hong Jung Sik. The hymn is a musical and poetic revision of the Psalm number 17, and it demonstrates a unique symbiosis of the biblical concept, brought to Korea from the West, and the creative potential of people belonging to the eastern culture.
