N. Ya. Merpert and modern issues of studying the Eneolithic-Bronze Age of the Circumpontic region (news from the conference)

The All-Russian Conference with international participation on ‘the Eneolithic and the Bronze Age of the Circumpontic region: cultural processes and interaction' (on the centenary of the birth of N. Ya. Merpert) was held in the Institute of Archaeology, RAS, in November 29 - December 1, 2022. Thematical papers presented at the conference sessions focused on the activity and scientific work of N. Ya. Merpert, archaeological excavations in the Middle East and the Balkans as well as other areаs of the Circumpontic region. The conference participants discussed issues relating to chronology, identification of cultural groups, reconstruction of technology and economic activity, comprehensive archaeological studies, conceptual interpretation of the studied objects from the Eneolithic - Bronze Age period.
