On the way to truth in sociology

Бесплатный доступ

The article discusses the controversial interpretation of the concept of truth in scientific knowledge, including the interpretation of this concept in sociology. The author uses the scheme proposed by the Russian philosopher and methodologist Rosov N.S. for analyzing the status of truth in various fields of scientific and philosophical knowledge. According to Rozov, scientific truths are the results of successful cognitive cycles most fully realized in cumulative sciences: natural, mathematical, technical, medical, empirical social and historical. It is argued that the achievement of truth is particularly problematic in theoretical sociology.
