«На заре иоаннитства (иоанниты в зародыше)». Очерк В. В. Бурсянина об истоках иоаннитского движения

В статье рассматривается неопубликованный документ под названием «На заре иоаннитства». Автором этого очерка является писатель Василий Васильевич Брусянин (1867–1919). По поручению одной из столичных газет он совершил поездку в Кронштадт, чтобы своими глазами увидеть религиозный быт странноприимных домов, в которых жили почитатели св. прав. Иоанна Кронштадтского. Автор именует «богомольцев» иоаннитами, хотя не называет их сектантами. Для него иоанниты — это все почитатели о. Иоанна Кронштадтского, которые считали его особенным священником. Много внимания в очерке уделено хозяйке странноприимного дома, которая распоряжалась расселением паломников. Дается описание богослужений, совершаемых о. Иоанном, а также обстановки, в которой они происходили. Материалы очерка вводятся в научный оборот впервые. Важное место в процессе изучения источника занял сравнительный метод, с помощью которого удалось сопоставить сведения В. Брусянина с воспоминаниями других людей, посещавших Кронштадт и лично общавшихся с прав. Иоанном Кронштадтским. В целом документ вполне репрезентативен, легко сопоставим с другими источниками, отражающими биографию о. Иоанна Сергиева и деятельность иоаннитов. При этом необходимо учитывать, что В. Брусянин внес в содержание текста свое восприятие как личности о. Иоанна, так и религиозной обстановки, сложившейся вокруг этого священника. Автор очерка близок к той части общества, которая негативно воспринимала прав. Иоанна Кронштадтского и его последователей, в том числе иоаннитов. Документ представляет научную значимость в силу того, что некоторые факты позволяют расширить знания о жизни св. Иоанна Кронштадтского, а также о религиозном быте иоаннитов.

“At the Dawn of Johannitism (Johannites in the Embryo)”. Essay by V. V. Bursyanin on the Origins of the Johannite Movement
The article presents the study of the unpublished document entitled “At the Dawn of Johannitism”. The author of the essay is the writer Vasily Vasilievich Bursyanin (1867–1919). Being given the assignment of one of the capital’s newspapers, he made a trip to Kronstadt to witness firsthand the religious life of shelter- houses for poor wanderers where devotees of St. John of Kronstadt lived. Bursyanin refers to the “worshippers” as Johannites, though he does not call them sectarians. For him, Johannites are all the followers of Fr. John of Kronstadt, who considered him a special priest. The essay devotes much attention to the matron of the shelter- house, who was in charge of the accommodation of pilgrims. There is a description of the services celebrated by Fr. John as well as the setting in which they took place. The materials of the essay are introduced in scholarly circulation for the first time. An important role in the process of studying the source was played by the comparative method, which made it possible to compare V. Brusyanin’s information with the recollections of other people who visited Kronstadt and personally communicated with St. John of Kronstadt. Overall, the document is quite representative; it is easily comparable with other sources that reflect the biography of Fr. John Sergiev and activities of Johannites. At the same time, it is necessary to take into account that V. Brusyanin infused the text with his own perception of both Fr. John as a person and the religious environment that had formed around this priest. Brusyanin is close to that part of society that negatively perceived St. John of Kronstadt and his followers, including the Johannites. The document has scientific significance since certain facts help to expand the knowledge about the life of St. John of Kronstadt, as well as the religious life of the Johannites.
