The beginning of the critical learning of A.P. Chekhov's works in the Arab world

The article deals with the first attempts of the critical interpretation of A.P. Chekhov’s works in the Arab countries in the beginning of the XXth century. The Arab critics were interested in humanism, democracy, the social problems of the Russian writers’ works and the innovation of A.P. Chekhov in prose and drama.
