National identity in modern Spain: historical and legal analysis of the concept

In this paper the author studies the problems of national identity in contemporary Spain. Crisis of identity is associated with the globalization process and the integration of peripheral European States into the common European area. As a result public consciousness and legal consciousness are transformed. However, the peculiarities of the historical and legal development of Spain can be considered the reason for national identity crisis.
