The article reviews artistic originality of S. D. Dorzhiev’s short stories, shows peculiarities of spatiotemporal worldview of the depicted world. Dorzhiev’s short stories reflect parameters of the special, still retained in the consciousness of modern Buryats - shamanistic attitude to all living creatures and at the same time presence of eschatological feeling related to breach of spiritual balance in the people’s world and in the whole nature. It is important for the writer to find in modern human consciousness the unity of real and spiritual, which helps to go beyond the borders of visible world and to come closer to unreal, like in shaman’s trance. The writer sees an overcoming of dramatic nature of heroes’ existence in such ability. S. D. Dorzhiev examines the movement of hero’s consciousness to harmony due to spiritual experience which helps to go beyond physical space and time. This escape to another worlds, the birth of new spiritual relationship between a man and a world is the main writer’s interest.
