The author of the article considers the national policy of Russia as an argument for the stabilization of interethnic relations, which, with a competent approach, is able to consolidate the diversity of cultures into a single whole wealth of Russia. For this, in the national and federal relations it is necessary to exclude the homophonic principle, according to which one people is declared the leader, and the rest is considered as if secondary. With a polyphonic approach, all nations are equal. The author shows that ethnicity is not only a social and cultural factor, but also a political vector, which can be directed both into a creative and destructive channel.
