National goals of environmental and social orientation: a view from the side of economic structures of the agricultural sector

Decree of the President of the Russian Federation dated May 7, 2024 No. 309 set national development goals for the country for the period until 2030 and for the future until 2036. The issue of studying the relationship between the set development goals and the trend of sustainable economic development becomes relevant. The authors of the work consider the problem within the framework of the agro-industrial complex. The subject of the study is national development goals of environmental and social orientation. The purpose of the study is to identify and analyze national development goals of environmental and social dimensions for economic structures of the agro-industrial complex. When conducting the research, a systematic interdisciplinary approach, general scientific and special research methods were used, which together made it possible to take a comprehensive look at the problem and achieve the goal. It was established that social and environmental projects developed specifically for economic structures of the agro-industrial complex were implemented from 2003 to 2017. Then, the ongoing national projects related to sustainable economic development did not provide a clear direction for the economic structures of the agroindustrial complex. Current national development goals and their corresponding objectives relate to environmental well-being and social development (together sustainable economic development) and can be transposed to the economic structures of the agro-industrial complex. No targeted programs that take into account ESG factors and relate specifically to economic structures in the agricultural sector have been identified. It is presented that taking into account ESG factors by economic structures will allow achieving national goals not only of social and environmental, but also of economic orientation.
