National military units in the troops of A. V. Kolchak

The article covers the problem of national military formations of the Buryats, the Songolo-Sartuls (the Tsongols), the Kazaho-Kirghizs and the Mongols in the army of A.V. Kolchak in 1919. The paper also describes the creation of these formation and their participation in the military operations. The process of “revolutionization” of the Cossacks of Siberia has been investigated separately. The article is based on the rare material, on published and, partially, archival sources with use of the data of a comparative-historical method. The work advances a new idea about the role and the place of national formations in the Civil War in Russia, especially in connection with the ethnic issue.
