Modern areas of humanitarian cooperation have a variety of forms. One of them is national holidays, which can unite countries along ethnic, national and religious lines. Russia, as a multinational country, encompasses a diverse array of ethnicities, each carrying a cultural history that resonates with other nations and cultures. The Republic of Buryatia stands as one of Russia’s border regions, adjacent to Mongolia and China. The cultures of the Buryat and Mongolian peoples have historically shared numerous similarities across various ways. National holidays serve as a significant unifying factor between these two ethnic groups. The article delves into the historical transformation of national holidays, which unite two nationalities - Buryats and the Mongols. The author elucidates the role and significance of these national holidays, arguing for the necessity of fostering interest among the younger generation in the traditions and culture of their ancestors. Through an examination of the cultural and historical contexts of these celebrations, the article highlights their potential to enhance bilateral relations and promote mutual understanding between Russia and Mongolia.
