In the article the issues of the topology of culture in the national dimension, the possibilities and prospects of the preservation and reproduction of national forms of existence of culture. Discusses two different approaches to the definition of nation, the First interprets it as historically established state-civic partnership, the second - as a form of developed ethnic community, due to a single biological kinship basis. But depending on which of these approaches is the governing social practice, especially if this practice acts as a public policy, it and understanding the “national interest”, and so the character and ways of their provision and their protection. Protecting national interests is, in fact, is the main content of national security. National security is provided in state-legal space, so one of the strategic tasks of the responsible institutions is its integrity, which is largely determined by the status and level of development of the culture in which and only in which are realized the vital needs of the individual and society.
