The subject of the article : national mentality as the acting and system-forming factor of culture. The object of the article: national and ethnic, their unity and diversity, as well as mutual intersections in the space of peoples` mentality. The aim of the work is to show the system-forming elements of the cultural model in the space of national and ethnic cultures, because the mentality of the national culture even changing remains fundamentally constant within the boundaries of its native language. This makes it possible to identify culture on its entire historical path, from origin to heyday and may be death. Work Methodology: the construction of the concept of the mental formations context on the basis of Russian philosophical thought and the ideas of contemporary humanitarian scholars. The accentuation of the main categories in consideration of mentality: spirit, spirituality, character, everyday life, self-conscience, identity and etc. Work results: the actualization of the cultural forms formation and development in national and ethnic communities that are funded by mental peculiarities. The presentation of the mental factors of civilization that are common to a number of peoples and even ethnoses, and in the case of Russia, are definitely of a supra-ethnic and interethnic character, i.e. they become acting - moreover, system-forming - for a number of genetically diverse cultures. The practice field of the results: for cultural studies it is important to comprehend the diversity of cultural forms in the space of national mentality, to highlight its main structural components that can influence national consciousness in contemporary world, and also for the diverse models construction of cultural worlds of ethnic groups. Conclusion. Mentality is caused by the differences in the spatio-temporal culture organization. National mentality is understood as deep structures of culture have been determining ethnic identity for a long time. It is a constant system of values formed by a certain ethnos. Thus the conclusions presented in the article are proved and logical.
