The analysis of nazi propaganda activities in the city of Rostov-on-Don during the second occu-pation has been carried out on the basis of consideration of leaflets, brochures and editions of the collaborationist newspaper “Voice of Rostov”, which made it possible to identify the main directions of ideological influence on the population. It was established that in their propaganda activities in the city of Rostov-on-Don the invaders used lies, provocation, gray and black propaganda, which implied both a significant transformation of news and historical and event information, its silencing and hyperbolization, and direct fiction and inversion of events to manipulate the consciousness of the masses. Propaganda has various means of influencing the consciousness of the masses, being in direct interaction with agitation. The monopoly of Nazi propaganda in the captured territories in the infor-mation space provided high opportunities for a one-sided interpretation of events. However, the effectiveness of this process was not high due to the discrepancy between the content of the propaganda and the real actions of the occupiers. The adoption of elements of Nazi agitation by modern supporters of falsifications has been observed, leading to the need to thoroughly study the historical sources of propaganda to lessen the negative impact of their modern analogues on the masses.
