The remains of five wooden ships were discovered as a result of a low water level in the fall of 2021 in the Nizhny Novgorod region, on the Vetluga river. The staff of the Nizhny Novgorod State Historical and Architectural Museum Reserve was an operational research of the finds. Preliminary studies have shown that the remains could have belonged to nonself-propelled vessels of the barge type used on the Vetluga River in the 19th - first half of the 20th centuries.
