Applications of unmanned aerial vehicles to diagnose overhead power lines

The article considers the possibility of using unmanned aerial vehicles for diagnostics of the state of overhead transmission lines in the Republic of Khakassia. The research used methods of statistical analysis of data and reduced costs. The analysis showed the expediency of using unmanned aerial vehicles with a photo and video camera and a thermal imager for the top inspection of high-voltage overhead transmission lines. The recommendations on the choice of parameters for unmanned aerial vehicles and target load have been formulated. The technical and economic comparison of the options for top inspection ofpower lines with the use of a helicopter and a drone showed the advantage of using the drone. A map of the regions of Khakassia was drawn up, showing the number of days in a year, with favorable weather conditions for unmanned aerial vehicles. The recommendations on the use of unmanned aerial vehicles, taking into account the different weather conditions of the territory under consideration, are formed.
