Narcology in the Trans-Baikal region: historical milestones of formation and development (to the 40th anniversary of the narcological service)

The article is devoted to the history of the creation and establishment of the narcological service in the Trans-Baikal Territory in the light of the transformations that took place in the USSR healthcare system, and later in the Russian Federation, and are inextricably linked with the achievements of modern narcological science and practice. The main stages of development, changes, achievements and the current state of drug treatment in the Trans-Baikal Region are described. The main emphasis in the activities of narcologists is on the model of interaction with the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, law enforcement agencies, the employment service, and public organizations. Modern personalized programs in narcology are oriented towards a systematic approach to comprehensive medical and social rehabilitation of patients with addictive dependencies and are carried out as part of a three-level system for providing medical care to drug addicts. The introduction of innovative technologies in drug treatment practice will increase the level and quality of specialized care for the population, ensure its accessibility, as well as the ability to form a long-term remission in patients.
