National religious culture in the 1940's: the Stalingrad oblast case study

The revival of national religious culture in the Soviet society in the 1940s is shown in the article. The authors reveal an aspiration of believing people to restore on a full scale the traditional Orthodox parish culture. They showed the presence of alternative Orthodox culture and Orthodox-pagan folk beliefs. The informal national religious culture had a serious impact on governmental bodies in the 1940s.
