This article is devoted to the analysis of modern monarchical mythology in its relationship with eschatological concepts. The author substantiates the need to distinguish between the subcultures of “tzarebozhniky” and the movement of eschatological monarchism. If all the “tzarebozhniky” expect the restoration of the monarchy, then by no means all who believe in the coming Tsar can be classified as “tsarebozhniky”. The formation of the mythotheologeme about the restoration of the monarchy in Russia was influenced by the elements of the old concept “Moscow is the third Rome”, the monarchical ideologemes of pre-revolutionary Russia, the works of Russian religious writers of the pre-revolutionary period and the ideologemes of modern times. Modern eschatological hermeneutics of monarchical ideologies is based on a number of prophetic texts. Due to the fact that their use is not accompanied by source analysis, they can be considered as mythotheologemes with a different balance of theological and mythological content. The proclamation of the coming eschatological Tsar as a unique figure in apocalyptic events is used as an apologetic strategy by various contenders for the royal throne from among persons with a clearly non-royal biography. The article is made within the framework of semiotic and hermeneutic analysis of sources.
