Human rights violation as a social trauma: the legal dimension

The article discusses the legal aspects of perception of human rights violation as a social trauma. A historical review of the formation of the human rights system is conducted at the national and international levels. Social traumas that can be over- come by legal means include genocide, racial discrimination, restriction of political rights of citizens, restriction on access to information, reduction of access to cultural values. Particular attention is paid to such crime of international significance as terrorism, which is a huge blow to society and it has traumatic consequences for a long time. It is shown that at the present stage social traumas include non-compliance with social-economic rights and freedoms of citizens, such as decent wages, availability of housing, work, access to education and social security. The specificity of Russia is revealed, the major violations of labour legislation, that is non-payment of wages, illegal dismissal of workers, illegally imposed disciplinary sanctions or other violations are considered in this article.
