The data of experimental evidence of three phenotypic classes controlled by genotype for oleic acid content in sunflower seed oil – conventional low oleic nearly 34 % (line VK580), increased oleic 69 % (LG 27) and high oleic 87 % (LG 26) were obtained. In the cross of LG 27 × LG 26 the increased oleic trait was monogenic and reces-sive without any maternal effect whereas in the reciprocal crosses of LG 27 and VK580 a full maternal effect in F1 and BC1 with no maternal inheritance in F2 was observed.
