The author examines the basic tools of inheritance planning for solving the problems of protecting and developing family and business. Concludes the advisability of using in this area the institutions of family and inheritance law, insurance and other substitutes for wills, and in relation to business - corporate law, corporate governance and successor preparation. He proposes to introduce the concept of a succession strategy - a document that ensures the unity of the client’s goals and objectives, as well as the consistency of the tools used to solve them. Describes in detail the technology for developing such a document.
