The article tells about the tragic fate of the last rector of the church at the Putilov factory, Archpriest John Zimnev. He was appointed rector of the church in 1920 and during his service experienced a campaign of confiscation of church valuables and two closures of the Putilov Church in May 1922 and February 1925. If the first time Fr. John was able to defend the church, then in 1925 he failed to do so. Later, the archpriest served in various churches in Leningrad and died as a new martyr in 1938. The article is based on archival documents and the recollections of eyewitnesses of the events.
