Fragrant mint is distinguished from other cocktails by its low healing and medicinal properties. It is widely used in diseases of the stomach, nervousness, colds. In ancient times, mint was widely used as a medicine to prolong life. It is now a plant of special importance in phytotherapy, aromatherapy and pharmacology. It also has a special place in modern cosmetology, it is added to scented baths and is widely used in spam.
Mint (Mentha L.) is a perennial herbaceous plant belonging to the family of lilacs (Lamiaceae), which has high medicinal properties. In the warm climates of the Northern Hemisphere, 20-25 species of mint are widespread. In Europe, the
United States, Ukraine, Belarus and the North Caucasus, mint is cultivated as astringent and curly, in China, India, Brazil as water and field mint. In Uzbekistan, four species of water mint, Asian mint, astringent mint and curly mint grow as the wild. The stems are erect, 25-100 cm long, the leaves are opposite, rhombic, linear, ovoid, with a canopy, and the color is purple. There are many types of mint in our country, for example: "black mint", "Asian mint", "pepper mint", "water mint" and so on. It is not only an herb, a spice, a spring dish, but also a medicinal ointment. It is no coincidence that Pliny the Elder advised his disciples to wear a mint ring on their heads. He also ordered to wipe the tops of the chairs with mint when receiving distinguished and esteemed guests. Such an action lifts the mood and helps the brain to thrive.
Mint has been widely used in folk medicine. In folk medicine, a decoction of mint prepared from the surface is used to treat toothache, mouth sores, inflammation of the gums. Syrup made by adding sugar to mint decoction is good for heartburn and epilepsy, and its juice is useful in migraines and jaundice. The juice obtained from it also has a positive effect in the treatment of scabies. Abu Ali ibn Sino treated intestinal pains with mint. He recommended it as a means of digesting food well. Mint is also used to soften the breast, as an expectorant and as a remedy for respiratory diseases. According to folk medicine scholar A.Popov, the effect of peppermint in neurological diseases (hypochondria, vasculitis, nervous breakdown) improves the activity of the gastrointestinal tract, strengthens the body in dehydration, fatigue, plague and bod disease have Bile also has the property of driving.
In addition, the use of herbal tinctures during pregnancy and lactation prevents various adverse events in mothers. For example, it neutralizes the appearance of toxicosis, relieves nausea and relieves pain during menstruation. There are also benefits as well as harms of mint tincture. In particular, it is not recommended for people with high blood pressure, gastritis and children under 3 years. In any cottage, in the garden is already reserved space for bitter medicinal mint. This simple plant is used in home cooking, along with other herbs - dill, parsley, oregano.
On the other hand, herbs have medicinal properties. Tinctures and infusions are used in traditional medicine, ointments and tinctures are produced industrially. The medicinal properties of mint and its contraindications are well studied.
The essential oil, which is a mixture of menthol and its derivatives, gives the mint leaves a unique scent. In addition, the leaves contain organic cyclic compounds: kamphen; limonene; pinene; sineol; bulletproof; meyanton.
Together with menthol compounds and essential oils, they make up 60 percent of the chemical elements derived from mint leaves. The rest are dietary supplements, organic acids, anthocyanin, azulenes and trace elements. Such a saturated content of substances necessary for humans makes up 3 percent of the green mass. Naturally, the properties of mint are used and the plant is grown on an industrial scale. Therapeutic forms of mint include the separation of fresh raw materials into solvents and its use in complex preparations.
In short, the mint plant is a late-used medicinal property that can be widely used in almost all areas of medicine, and through this article we have tried to provide information about its folk medicine and its most necessary and useful properties in nature.
