Scientific activities of the professor of liturgical studies of the SPBTA V.I. Dolotsky

The aim of this article is to show the use of historical approach V.I. Dolotsky appliedin his scientific articles. Analysis of published articles shows that V.I. Dolotsky usesa historical approach to liturgy that, however, is fragmented. It is V.I. Dolotsky wholaid the foundations of scientific liturgy in SPbTA in the previous period before theadoption of the Charter in 1869. This period can be roughly dated by the beginningof 1840. In this ”covert period” (from the beginning of 1840 till the Charter in 1869)works of V.I. Dolotsky, liturgy lecturer in SPbTA in his scientific articles used ahistorical approach to church archeology and liturgy. In this article we used thehistorical and textual method
