Scientific heritage and prospects: to the 85-th anniversary of the department of the Russian language and general linguistics

The article was prepared for the 85th anniversary of the Department of Russian Language and General Linguistics at the Buryat State University, the founder of the formation of philological education in the Republic of Buryatia, the large scientific and educational center of the region, which trained thousands of teachers of the Russian language and literature, writers and poets, researchers and employees of state power and administration. The work is devoted to the description of the main scientific directions of the staff of the department, acquaints readers with the stages of the development of linguistic thought, characterized by a painstaking accumulation of new knowledge, a change in the scope of research, the formation of new ideas and concepts in modern conditions. Particular attention is paid to the preservation and maintenance of the traditions of the department for the classical preparation of students of the philological faculty (now the Institute of Philology and Mass Communications) and the training of young scientists. Materials of personal memories of the veterans of the department and the oldest employees of the university are widely used in the article.
