The next selection of mutual correspondence between S.F. Platonov and V.G. Druzhinin logically continues the previous publication. It covers the period of their active work on their master's theses, allowing us to establish the chronology of their research and identify the main challenges they faced during their intense research efforts. This selection provides insights into the exact timeline of S.F. Platonov's master's thesis, the publication of his monograph, and the initial reviews and responses to it. In 1887, both researchers made their debuts with reports on their research topics at the All-Russian Archaeological Congress in Yaroslavl. The letters contain important historiographical facts: A.I. Shlyapkin's scientific activities, the first rumors about A.A. Spitsyn's possible relocation to Moscow, and K.A. Ivanov's teaching activities. The letters also provide numerous news related to the life of the academic community in the capital and other universities in the empire. The letters provide interesting insights into the daily lives of the Platonov and Druzhinin families during their summer vacations, including their leisure activities, studies, and excursions.
