Comprehensive and longterm research has been conducted to develop highly productive and economically efficient agricultural technology for producing oilseeds from spring rapeseed in the foreststeppe zone of Russia's Central Federal District. Currently, the acreage of this oil and fodder crop is increasing in our country, yet its oilseed yield remains low. To increase spring rapeseed yield, it is necessary to develop and implement cultivation technologies that provide an adaptively functioning agrocenosis with a powerful leaf surface and developed root system, allowing its potential productivity to be fully realized. An analysis and summary of published research conducted under the pedoclimatic conditions of the foreststeppe zone of the Central Federal District of Russia showed that highly efficient oilseed production of this crop can only be ensured by comprehensively using all optimal agricultural practices for the region, from placement in crop rotation to postharvest processing of oilseeds to meet basic commercial standards. At the same time, it is most reasonable to introduce new varieties or hybrids of spring rapeseed, which, at equivalent costs, provide a higher oilseed yield than those previously used. In 2022, Forpost KL, the first domestically bred imidazolinoneresistant spring rapeseed variety, was registered in the State Register of Russia. According to research conducted from 2023 to 2024, the most economically efficient yield (2.87 t/ha) was achieved using a cultivation technology that included, besides all other agricultural practices recommended for the region for oilseed production, the main application of complete mineral fertilizer (NPK 40) and foliar feeding with Biostim Maslichny during the interstage period between stem extension and the beginning of budding, as well as treatment of crops with a nonselective herbicide (Illion, OD). Therefore, implementing the results of our research in agricultural production will significantly increase spring rapeseed yield in the Russian Federation.
