Science as any kind of creative activity that is an antipode to obviousness and routine is developed by personalities. Outstanding people who are the first to notice the shoots of new tendencies and threats arising from moss-grown stereotypes. The development of science is based on a considerate attitude to talents. It is essential to bring up constantly ourselves and scientific and pedagogical society in the first place and the whole society in general to this kind of attitude. But at least at anniversary occasions of obviously leading scientists our duty is to give them their due and consider results of their contribution to science. A remarkable anniversary of one of the leading modern Russian jurists Vladimir Mikhailovich Baranov is an appropriate occasion. Vladimir Baranov’s special talent to unite jurists and become their unofficial leader in working on truly significant problems in lawmaking and law enforcement makes one ponder over personal traits of a scientist and the sense of science of law. Besides his influence on Faculty of Law of Perm State University is undeniable.
