Scientific discourse: tolerance limits (based on the material of the genre of reviews)

The article is devoted to the analysis of the tolerance category in scientific discourse. The tolerant form of expressing critical comments and the implicit expression of negative evaluation is dominant in modern scientific communication. The status of the tolerance category is determined by the specifics of its content, as well as by the formed systemic intercategorical relations. The authors investigate problem about tolerance limits in scientific discussion. The texts by the linguist academician A.A. Zaliznyak are used as the material. Scientific review, being a form of monitoring the current state of science, should not be “extremely tolerant”.
