The article considers substantial characteristics of the line manager status (foreman, master, machine-shop manager) in modern manufacturing organizations. The author considers a system of personal dependence relations in the context of informal aspect of the manager status, as well as the features of administrative behavior in simultaneous realization of the interests of the senior management and the workers of the enterprise. The conclusions show the increasing value of informal, interpersonal relations in the upgrade of line manager status and the management of administrative processes at the enterprise.
