The article presents new materials concerning the biography of Anatoly Kornelievich Vinogradov (1888-1946) - a Soviet writer, organizer of library business, in 1921-1925 - Director of the Rumyantsev Museum (hereinafter - the State Library named after Lenin). The presented materials are based on the research of the archive of A.K. Vinogradov, which is stored in the Russian state archive of literature and arts. The article analyzes Vinogradov's friendly correspondence with the famous Moscow doctor Alexander Grigoryevich Dreitzer, author of the famous documentary "Notes of an Ambulance doctor", dedicated to the life of Moscow in 1941-1943. The studied letters of the writer and doctor belong to the period May 23, 1936 - April 8, 1942. The main topics of correspondence are reflected and analyzed: discussion of personal issues, current events, the popularity of the writer's publications, his life and health, issues of health organization, the organization of life of writers in wartime. Information about the active activity of A.K. Vinogradov in protecting his friends in the late 1930s was identified and introduced into scientific circulation. The necessity of further prosopographic studies of the personality of A.K. Vinogradov for the reconstruction of an integral and multidimensional picture of the history of librarianship in the first quarter of the 20th century is substantiated.
