Some Aspects of the Institution of Electoral Law

This scholarly article examines the legal aspects of the institution of electoral law, encompassing constitutional, administrative, and other normative legal mechanisms. It analyzes subjective electoral law as the foundation for citizens’ participation in the formation of government bodies. The importance of the principles of universality, equality, and direct voting with a secret ballot is underscored, alongside the role of electoral systems (majoritarian, proportional, and mixed) in ensuring election legitimacy. The study addresses issues related to improving electoral legislation, media monitoring, and judicial practice aimed at safeguarding voters’ rights and establishing accountability for violations. Special attention is paid to the need for historical and legal analysis, the conscientious participation of citizens in elections, and the transparency of electoral procedures. The research findings contribute to strengthening democratic institutions and ensuring political system stability. The article substantiates the growing role of law enforcement practice and the professional development of electoral process participants, fostering a predictable legal environment and reinforcing public trust.
