Some aspects of the musical theme in M. Bulgakov's novel “Master and Margarita” and their reflection in Russian rock lyrics (M. Pushkina's “At the prince of darkness's ball”)

The article deals with some aspects of the musical theme in M. Bulgakov’s novel “Master and Margarita”. It examines the relation between the musical phrases and the images of Bulgakov’s heroes. Particular attention is given to the theme of the waltz with regard to the image of Margarita. In connection with this aspect of the topic the author comments on the case of an allusion to Bulgakov’s solution of the theme of the waltz in Pushkina’s poem “At the Prince of Darkness’s Ball” is considered.
