The article is devoted to the connections of the funeral ceremonial and the social culture of the nomads of the Samara-Ural region at the scythian times in the IV-VI centuries B.C. The researcher argues that the funeral ceremonial of nomads was mostly directed to the symbolic representation of the social status of the dead. We can reveal some elements of the ceremonial connected with the social status of the buried.
