Archaeological sites within the right bank of the Amu Darya Lebap region (East Turkmenistan), compared with the left bank, are few and poorly understood. Physiographic and environmental conditions in the region are unfavorable for the preservation of archaeological sites, in addition, they are subject to destruction by the Amu Darya and in connection with the economic development of those lands. Archaeological research, particularly in Usty-Cala, Bityk-Cala, Navidah and other objects of the past, have yielded new data that characterize the material culture of the region's population in the ancient and medieval times.

Middle amu darya, ancient and medieval times, archaeological objects, fort, citadel, walls and towers, the stratigraphy of the settlement, cultural layer, adobe bricks, river crossing
