The article analyses some of the main problems in the development of social and labour relations in modern Russia. One of these problems is the problem of the alienation of workers from the means of production, which entails the unfair performance of their work duties, and this is at a minimum. Other consequences of such an alienation of workers are a reduction in labour productivity, a growing production of unsuitable products (i.e. «brak») at work, theft, etc. Other fundamental and important problems of the Russian labour market are various types of discrimination in hiring, those employment and the illegal incomes of a certain part of the working-age population. These problems are important not only for the segment of social and labour relations of employment of the population, but also for the segment of budgetary relations, since taxes in the case of shadow employment, as is known, are not paid to the state budget.
