In work problems of development of economy of local government in an economic crisis are investigated. Attempt to consider reform of local government from a position of creation of effective system of the public control is undertaken. Practical recommendations about the optimum organisation of activity controls and accounts bodies of municipal unions of the Russian Federation are offered.
