Some stroke to the historical portrait of the Russian police officer and state manager Ivan Petrovich Mollerius

The article presents a historical analysis of individual aspects of the multifaceted activities of I.P. Mollerius, who entered the history of domestic police studies with a number of his scientific works, in which the limits of the competence of police affairs are substantiated. Along with the above, the author draws attention to some aspects of the life of I.P. Mollerius as a prominent figure in the Russian state. Perceiving certain ideas of the theoretical heritage of the noted specialist, the author comes to the conclusion about the relevance of the study by the modern generation of police scientists of historical commandments addressed to persons in public service in the Russian police of the 21st century.
