Some theoretical and practical aspects of second language vocabulary acquisition

The article presents a review of some publications and materials on the problem of studying and modeling the process of second language vocabulary acquisition when special attention is focused on the learner. Here is also given and explained P.Meara's opinion concerning the importance of learning many words over a short period of time.
