The article is concerned with wine culture traditions of the Greek population of the Asian Bosporus during antiquity. It is pointed out that the wine was an essential food product and a part of the daily ration. Special attention is paid to the fact, that the Greeks used the wine as a strategic product for alcohol colonization of the barbarians. The author also recounts some technological aspects of the antique wine-making during the mentioned period.
