The article deals with the actual problem of modern sports - ensuring the safety of persons engaged in physical culture and sports, also identifies the priority direction of development of the legislation of the Russian Federation in the field of sports - improving the legal regime of security during sports and sporting events. The sports industry is developing rapidly and has reached a high level in terms of organization, financing, results. Deals with the problems of security and ways to solve these problems in Russia at the international level. The author also formulated the concept of "sports security".
