A simplified method for calculating and selecting shock-absorbing elements made of polyurethane and rubber is considered. The calculation is based on determining the relative deformation that occurs under dynamic loading. The influence of the shape factor of shock-absorbing elements on their damping characteristics is assessed. It has been shown that polyurethane has better damping properties compared to rubber.
