The article represents previously unpublished materials, obtained in the expeditions of A.P. Okladnikov in the years 1958-1959 near Sheremetyevo village on the right bank of Ussuri river. The scientific interpretation that is given in this article corresponds to the current level of knowledge on the Neolithic of southern Far East. Morphological and typological analysis of stone tools has allowed us to relate them mainly to the Neolithic Age. Cultural and chronological analysis of ceramics showed that it primarily belongs to the Lower Amur archaeological cultures (Mariinsk, Malyshevo, Kondon and Voznesenovskoye cultures) and to the cultural-chronological type (“Petropavlovsky type”) of Neolithic Age. The analogies for each ceramic complex were found in materials of other Neolithic sites of the Lower Amur. The collection also includes the materials which correlate with the period of the Middle Neolithic of Primorye, the territory which borders the Amur and Ussuri regions. The obtained information has allowed not only to identify the Sheremetyevo area as a “transit” zone, where the cultural contacts of the Neolithic population of the south of the Far East can be seen, but also to expand our knowledge of the habitats of different tribes of Lower Amur and cultural traditions of Primorye.
