Immediate results of treatment of closed liver injuries received at road accident

The immediate postoperative period analysis of 190 patients with a diagnosis of abdominal trauma with liver damage due to a traffic accident was performed. Of the total number of patients isolated damages were reported in 47 (24.7 %) cases, and multiple and multisystem injuries in 143 (75.2 %) cases. The analysis of the immediate postoperative period flow in patients with closed liver trauma after a car accident has shown that the development of complications and death does not depend on the nature of the operation, but on the presence or absence of multiple and multisystem injuries. Thus, in patients with isolated injuries complications in the immediate postoperative period developed in 16 (8.4%) observations. In the immediate postoperative period died 7 (14.8 %) patients. Of the total patients with multiple and multisystem injuries, accompanied by closed liver trauma, the development of 110 (76.9 %) complications was revealed. Severe condition of patients, presence of concomitant damages and shock naturally led to high mortality in this group. So among this group of patients deaths were recorded in 87 (60.8 %).
