Short-term results of neoadjuvant regional chemotherapy in gastric acncer patients

The paper presents short-term results of neoadjuvant regional chemotherapy for gastric cancer patients using 2 courses of chemotherapy according to TPF regimen (Taxoter 75 mg/m2 + Cisplatin 75 mg/m2 + Fluorouracil 1000 mg/m2) with a 4-week interval between courses. Complete response was observed in 26 % of the patients, partial response in 58 %, stable disease in 10 % and disease progression in 6 % of the patients. Radical surgery (gastrectomy) was performed in 84 % of the patients. Key words: gastric cancer, regional neoadjuvant chemotherapy, response rate, chemotherapy-induced pathomorphism.
